Facelift surgery is designed to reduce wrinkling in the face. A more youthful appearance is achieved by removing excess skin and fatty tissue with overall tightening.

Facelifts last 7-10 years. At that time, there may be indications to do more work, but it is certainly not a necessity.

The recovery for a facelift is 2-3 days for normal activities. The bruising, which usually ends up in the neck, is quite minimal, but will last for two weeks. The goal of the surgery is to create a more youthful appearance. This procedure is done as an outpatient procedure, and does not require hospitalization.
