The abdominoplasty is a procedure to reduce both the skin and the fatty tissue in the abdomen.

It is commonly done after pregnancies have stretched the muscle wall and the skin. It is also indicated after intensive weight loss. The tummy tuck involves removing skin from the lower abdomen and bringing the tissue downward. The belly button remains in the same position as it was previously. Muscles are repaired.

The recovery time is ten days to two weeks. Athletic activity can be done after 4-5 weeks. This procedure is done as an outpatient procedure, and does not require hospitalization.
